Soon after that, she did an internship with the Christian Dominican Evangelistic Mission in Monte Cristi, where she met her husband, Melchor Marte. In January of 2007, she moved to the Dominican Republic and in June of that year, she and Melchor were married.
Since that time, Kassie and Melchor have been serving with Association Centro Cristiano working with Camp Canaan, near Salcedo, the Christian school in Santiago and a small church in Cabirmal, Kassie coordinates the mission team scheduling and assists the American teams with translating and culture acclamation. When she is not busy with those tasks, she teaches English classes and she works with the youth of the church in Cabirmal, as well as at the Camp.
