Recent News:
On December 26, 2004 the world quickly forgot about Christmas and focused its attention on a natural disaster which proved to be more catastrophic than any disaster ever witnessed by this generation. The tsunami tore through the Indian Ocean at speeds reaching 1000 kilometers per hour, leaving in its wake a path of destruction affecting millions of lives.
In India, both Kerala and Tamil Nadu states were hit hard by this tragic event. P.V. Alexander Ministries responded almost immediately by providing clothes for approximately 700 families in Tamil Nadu. As a result of this effort of love P.V. has been able to start 10 new churches in the Tamil Nadu area.
When these churches were started there were anti-conversion laws in place making it illegal for any Hindu to convert to Christianity. Anyone caught being baptized would receive a 2 year prison sentence. The Christians in that area began secret prayer meetings asking God to change the laws which would allow them to worship and evangelize as they pleased. After praying continually for a year and a half, God moved on the officials of the state government and just this year they reversed the anti-conversion laws.
The churches in Tamil Nadu are growing very rapidly. They have been renting buildings but are outgrowing them. They are desperately in need of several new church buildings. Pastor Abraham has asked the American churches for help so that the needed churches can be built. A nice sized church will cost between $8000.00 to $10,000.00. Please pray with us for God to provide these much needed funds.
